About Chris Poirier

Well, as you’ve probably guessed, my name is Chris Poirier.  I’m a computer software developer based in Toronto, Canada, and courage-my-friend.org is my website. 

I lead a fairly quiet life.  Most of my time is spent programming, to be honest.  In addition to my paying work, I’ve been involved with a number of open source projects, over the years, including:

• the Groovy language;
• the SchemaForm language; and
• a literate programming system.

My current project is RCC, a LALR(1) parser generator, writtten in Ruby.  It’s a pretty nice system, if I do say so myself, and I hope to release it to the world some time 2008.

Additionally, I write fiction, or muddle about with the piano or guitar, neither of which I play very well.  I’m also working on learning to draw. 

Finally, I run the Web Fiction Guide, which lists and reviews online fiction of all sorts.  I contribute reviews, which are aggregated here.
